The Association of Furman Students, Furman's student government, awarded Conservative Students for a Better Tomorrow the 2008-2009 "Organization of the Year" for "superior dedication to AFS and the greater student body."

T. Dean Williams is a graduate and former Trustee of Furman University. He chaired the Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees and served five terms on Furman’s Advisory Council, most recently as its Chairman.
